Please STOP lowering your standards…
One of my girlfriends, Sidney, dated this guy Anthony, for about 3 years until he decided that it was best that they date other people because he didn’t feel like he had “dated enough people yet.” Of course, she didn’t take this very well but as we all know, it takes two people to make a relationship work. Slowly, she started getting over it…until Anthony decided to waltz back into her life; begged her to take him back (which she did); and then he left her again.
They go on this emotional rollercoaster for awhile till I finally YANK her out of it! Girl…we are the reason society is the way it is! Hear me out first before cursing the entirety of this blog out. When we lower our standards, men lower their standards too. When they see that they can get away with almost anything, then they don’t do nearly any kind of self-improvement in a relationship. Point blank: If he knows you’re easy, then why would he put any effort into the relationship???
This is the whole scenario of things: A woman lets her man get away with anything and he knows that. Due to this, he doesn’t put any effort into the relationship. After awhile, he leaves her for a woman of substance and standards because men WANT a woman like that. Upon dating this new woman, SHE decides to dump him because he is not up to her standards and Really, who could blame her? She gets hurt because that’s another failed relationship.
This man goes back to the first woman and of course, she takes him back with open arms. She opens her arms, heart and legs up to him. He leaves her again for someone else and the whole thing starts over again. Girl, listen to me…STOP TAKING HIM BACK…or more importantly, HAVE SOME STANDARDS and I promise you, these men will work for it once they see that women have decided to step up and take NO nonsense!
